Making conclusions on our abilities through comparison to others can certainly be destructive, considering that we all differ through our distinctive histories, environments, inputs and expectations. We all react to different stimuli in our own way, resulting in unique individual capacities.
Others can certainly inspire us and teach us, but no one can tell us what we can and cannot do better than ourselves. Consequently, when working to develop anything it seems useful to always invest equal effort into the expansion of our awareness as that which we put directly into our actions.
Limits of physical capacity are surely better found through our perception rather than the resultant postural imbalances and injuries that tend to occur through tireless will power. Use patience and your returns will be delivered in good time and in good alignment.
So strive to find your true capacity, do a little more and that will then allow you to progress along your path, without pushing yourself off the path.
