Traditional Thai Yoga massage looks back on a long history of therapeutic healing with its earliest roots in fact originating from India; the source of Ayurveda also.

The theoretical foundation of thai massage is based on the concept of individual energy lines running through the body.

This theory also lies in Yoga philosophy which states that prana (life force energy, vitality and power) is absorbed with the air we breathe and with the food we eat.

Thai massage focuses on 10 main lines (the 10 sen) on which there are especially important acupressure points which, when activated, can help to provide relief from disease and pain.

Disturbances in the flow of energy, that occur due to physical and emotional stress, attachment to the material world and a loss of awareness of our true self, result in an insufficient supply of prana which can then in turn lead to sickness.

Working on these energy lines through massage can break the blockages stimulating the free flow of prana which consequently helps to restore general health and well-being.

Thai massage differs radically from the classical massage experienced in the West. Rather than primarily working only with the physical body, there is also a strong focus on the energy body, achieved through pressure and stretching. Many of the exercises appear as applied physical Yoga.
